Used my GS this morning it started and got me there

No your wrong ! we are talking about the best bike BMW made ie 1200 TC.
In that case, I'd like to report a theft...................... somebody has obviously stolen 2 camshafts from my GSA!!!

Sent using a Jedi mind trick!

So if I look really carefully and read between the lines here, this all means that the derision spouted regarding the 1200LC being troublesome and unreliable is tosh, and that they're actually no more troublesome or unreliable than 1100/1150s?

My 2008 GSA has never let me down. It's had its faults of course (what hasn't) but it always gets me there and usually in style.

Mines showing signs of being diffrent....

I've ridden the Latest WC and the new AT and both have these very smooth throughout the whole rev range engines.

My TC seems to have a grunty feel at low revs and it's preventing me or the DCT (in the AT's case) hanging onto gears and using more revs. This fault (I'm assuming it's a fault) means I tend to short shift and miss out on making sure I'm in the right gear.

I also have this feeling that on my TC BMW have designed it so that I alone are responsible for the response of the engine, it appears that they've not put any smoothing electronics between my right hand and the injection - it feels most mechanical

I had not started my 2009 gsa since its service end of October 2015 till this week 17th March. Should i be using an optimate or something like it. Bike ran great as it was its first outing with BOS full system I purchased from this parish. That BBBRRRRRRRUUUUPPP sound and the torque drive is mega. Shit what is that flashing light. Oh silly me I forgot to cancel the indicator. Bah.

also went to work on mine this morning,no probs, come to it to go home chuffin thing had been used for target practice by a couple of birds, so bike now washed and put away till next time

I was going to add to this thread complaining that the winter break hadn't fixed the faulty fuel strip on my 07 GSA - ho ho, but otherwise the bike was fine.

But then yesterday got the brake failure fault up whilst riding along. The GS911 tells me it's the ABS pump electrical failure so I'm going to smite it a mighty blow tomorrow to try and free off the brushes to hopefully save me a few quid.

And then today the thing is cutting out for fun, at least half a dozen times in 40 miles - not diagnosed yet.

I'm not going to ride it tomorrow, I can't afford it.

Bloody BMWs !

Well, I can report that I've just done a 5-day, 2000 mile trip around Scotland...... The bugger didn't miss a beat; nothing broke, and it was a complete joy to ride.

Bloody back tyre wore down a bit though. And I kept having to fill with petrol. S'pose my throttle arm aches a bit too:-\

I was just about to scrap mine. Took it out last week and noticed the clutch was slipping in high gear at high revs. Time to change the old bugger I thought. Spent a little time on here and discovered that clutch fluid goes up as clutches wear (Well I didn't know that!). Removed 5cc from the reservoir and I can confirm that after some serious thrashing all is now well. Good old Kraut bike. She's a keeper.

How to ruin a good thread . There are plenty of other threads listing problems or faults. Go and play in one of them.:blast

Where were we now......,

So I gave the bike a wash down; used a pressure washer, Rhino Goo, and everything.

When I'd finished I pressed the starter button....... Hey Presto... Started and ran like a good un :thumb2
