Using VGA monitor as a TV

I'm trying to find a piece of wizardry that will allow me to turn one of my surplus VGA monitors into a TV without using a PC.

I'm thinking of a cheap Freeview box linked to the monitor via some sort of TV-VGA conversion box.

Any ideas?

HAve you tried Maplin.
They do all sorts of cables.
Might just have one for you.

you'll need a tuner or DVD/ hard disc recorder which has and HDMI output (or up scaled output) then a cable to turn HDMI/ DVI into VGA

not the cheapest way to do it's but possible.

just get a freeview type set top box.

Thats exactly what i have done.

as long as it has a vga connector and pc out you're laughing.
