Ages ago a pal of mine bought an import GS off SPC when they were originally in short supply. Its now done around 4000 miles and usually languishes in the garage. Its in great condition (I know cos I cleaned it up to showroom std jus before he lost interest in it!). Its black with black seat c/w panniers and topbox (BMW). I would guess it could be the lowest mileage of its year. I think he is now ready to sell it.

What do you reckon he should ask for it? I know its an import but thats a bit irrelevant now cos its well out of waranty

Personally, I wouldn't devalue it a penny for being an import, provided it's got:

  • a proper UK-spec seedo (with log of full mileage covered)
  • the correct low-beam headlamp for the UK market

Does it have ABS, heated grips, FSH etc?

As someone looking for an 1150 i think the only way to price the bike is to say

`its only worth what someone is prepared to pay for it`

My advice is do your homework and review the current market price and then let me know what your figure is.....:D :D :D

most of the imports had a black telelever arm and black gearboxes -

looks much better than the usual cheap silver finish

Mines a W reg import.

The telever and g'box are silver.
Headlamp can be adjusted, mph speedo are cheap second hand. If it has ABS then I would say you have the best and most reliable braking system.

Of course I'm biased but would say that with a few mods could be one of the best GS's and has got to be worth at least £5000 with such a low mileage.

As far as I knowit has silver bits and ABS and heated grips and correct speedo/headlight. SPC seem to have made sure it was UK spec.
