Hi, anyone on here running a fairly recent V7, went to the NEC show last year and was a bit bored with all the new shiny stuff (must be getting old:rob) only things that caught my eye were the bonnie and the V7 :eek: So....Any thoughts?

Hi I've got a new V7 Classic (Px'd my total piece of doggy do do G650GS late last year) and I love it and for me a short lady its perfect. It handles very well sort of plants itself on the road, sounds just like a bike should and although its no speed demon it can accelerate me out of trouble when I need it. I swapped the seat which basically felt like a board for the lowered gel seat and thats realy comfortable there is no over stretch to reach the bars however OH whos 5ft 9 ish thinks the peg position is a bit uncomfortable but then he rides a Stelvio what can I say. Fuel consumption good and havn't had to use the manual choke yet. The main thing for me is that it has been very reliable so far unlike the G650GS.
Lovely bike this ones definately a keeper.

I think thats a lovely looking bike and I would like one for local use keeping the GS for lonnger trips and touring. Haven't looked at one in the flesh but wonder if I would be too big for it at 6ft 2 Any taller people got one?

ACF50 those rims, every V7 I have looked at has had rust breaking out on the rims!
 
Hi there, that V7 looks lovely, thanks for posting that. Obviously no problems so far and you seem to be enjoying it which is the point of the exercise!!Hopefully the weather will get a bit better soon and I 'll go and have a look/test ride if I can find a dealer with a demo......Cheers:beerjug: John B

The lever's not a manual choke Dizzy Dee. The bike's fuel injected - it works out the mixture. The lever is to allow a slightly faster idle when the temperature is cold and until the motor warms up.

Seems a bit counter intuitive to have minimally protected upside downies on the dirt road riding Stelvio and gaitered right way ups on the V7 Racer, but they're Guzzis after all...

They are both great bikes, though, and if I wasn't so attached to my two 70s Guzzis, I'd definitely be interested.
 
V7 Scrambler

Having owned a series of GS's and more recently KTM Adventure I decided I wanted something smaller and lighter, the V7 definitely fits the bill. Ok it's not a trans continental super tourer like the GS but suits the type of riding I do these days. Planning on doing a spot of light off reading this summer in Spain to really test it.

Excuse my taking this slightly off topic, can you easily fit another disc to make a twin front set up?

I would've thought on a bike with that weight and power, a single disc would be plenty...
 
NO !

Zooming in on the front hub pictured in #10 and #11, the hub is webbed on the RHS for strength, there is not enough material to mount a second rotor securely.

Additionally, there are no caliper mounting lugs on the RHS fork leg.

With 45 bhp, you can't get into that much trouble ;)

The R80 airhead came with the forks and hub carrier ready to take the second rotor, which was secured with bolts passing right through the hub. This was a dealer fit option back in the late '80's.

I am sure there will be an rip and replace option from a higher spec model, but why bother ?

It is s super little bike, enjoy it.

Is that the V7 recer but with high bars?? I thought the racer came with clip-on's:thumb but I guess you can mix'n'match between models... I think I may have answered my own question!!Cheers

Peds posted about the bike elsewhere , its deffo a classic but with a racer screen & side panels and he had the hubs painted like on the racer...nice :cool:
 
Scrambled

It's actually a Stone with Racer wheels and side panels, higher bars, different silencer and few other mods. That's one of the great things about the V7 , lots of parts are interchangeable between models. Add to that an accommodating Guzzi dealer in CorsaItaliana and voila, my Scrambler.:thumb
