If you click on the link, and open the attachment, then select Garmin UK.

Send them a mail, you will then get a automated message reply.

From that message, you can select what ever format you like, ie City Navigator. :thumb

It all depends what mapping software you have now. :nenau

Open your Mapsource, click on Help, then About Mapsource, then Product info, it will then tell you what mapping software you are using. :clap

BTBR i dont have any mapsource i bought the 2620 on e bay did not get any cds with it but v 6 is on the system its self i bought the above cds thinking it would upgrade the units software but im totally confussed now

Who did you 'buy' the CDs from (they should be free - the unlocks cost)?

Have you got your original unlock codes?

The 2620 uses City Navigator (City Select is discontinued in version 8).

I tried this route to get a free upgrade to CitySelect 7 ...
Once in the Garmin site
a) On-one ever replies to yoour e mail
b) Even if you are entitled to get the free up grade , how are you meant to get it , when the automated system won't let you get to a person
c) If I want City Select 8, which i won't be entitled to, how do I get it
i) Via Garmin ... and if so am I paying for discs, or an unlock code?
ii) Illegally of E bay ... because it is a lot less hassle

I am quite suprised that you have never had a reply from Garmin? Personally I found the customer response to be excellant. :bow

To the best of my knowledge, the update CD's are always free, its buying the unlock codes that is the sting in the wallet. :(

Without wishing to alarm you, and I am sure there is a logical reason, but on the face of it I cannot help but suspect that you could have been done over here.

The CD's are always free, in fact I have just given a set away coz I had a spare set.

Did you not get a unlock code included :nenau

If you have not got any unlock codes at all, then sadly, yes you have. :(

so i now assume if i get v 8 from garmin i will have to pay for unlock codes or do i order full cd dvd version from them

thanks for the help so far

Allroad,
If the e-bay add that you bought your CD`s from, did not state that you need unlock codes to use the mapping, then I would get onto E-bay ASAP and complain about the person you bought it from. You maybe lucky and get some sort of reimbursement.

Good luck.
