v85tt

I bought mine in July last year. At just over a year old. Just got 11,000 km on the clock. Could you call it outstanding? No you couldn’t. Could you call it sweet? Yes you could. Just a lovely bike to be tipping along on with reassuring handeling and braking. Can hustle but not nessary. Brilliant tank range. Doesn’t seem to use any oil. Went out of my way to buy 5 liters of Castrol 10/60. Didn’t need it. Did change the oil early.

My mate is in his late seventies, he’s very old school when it comes to technology, he’s never had an email address,😀and feels that even the limited technology on the V85 is wasted on him. I look after his airheads for him, the old school feel of the airhead suits him perfectly. He tried to get on with the V85 but offered it to me when I rode it for a day.
I’ve just been on a short tour with my son and his BiL. We went up through the gorges de Verdon, did part of the route Napoleon then did the col de la Bonnette, about 600km in 3 days. Once again I really enjoyed riding the R100GS. My son’s F650GS gave us some trouble mostly related to lack of use and the Honda kept needing fuel (small tank). Literally thousands of bikes on the road, being a holiday weekend and hot weather, we kept up or ahead of most of them. I certainly wouldn’t want to replace the airhead and not sure that I’d make enough use of a V85 but the idea that it’s not overloaded with tech makes it more appealing than a lot of other ‘adventure’ bikes out there.

One thing I really do not like about the Euro5+ are the rims on the spoked wheels. They are like a matt textured silver and an absolute pig to clean. The spokes are fine it's just the rims. Still waiting for them to get back to me on a price for the cast wheels that are on the Strada.

I gave up trying to clean the black ones on my Travel version. They only get dirty again

Do we stay in Dent, do we venture elsewhere? Do we stick to the W/E or do we do it midweek? No need for a post card, log your thoughts here.
I spent an enjoyable four nights here with some pals recently. Expensive but very good.

There’s a pair of Strada wheels on the Guzzi club GB market place. £500.

Mr Sheene👍👍 works every time. And yes, the finish is a pia

Stay in Dent? Don't mind as long as its somewhere equally pretty and with good pubs on the doorstep. How far is Margaret prepared to travel? :D

Midweek? For those of us still in full time employment, weekends are probably preferable. Certainly for me.

BTW, who won the race to Teesdales to buy / buy back the Stelvio?? :D
All I can say is....it's still there.

How are Guzzi sales there in general?

As far as unsold inventory the dealer I visit has four V100's in stock, all well discounted 2024's that have been there a while. One Stelvio, two stelvios with rider assistance, and one Mandello S.

They have five various 2024 V7's, two V9 Bobbers a 2023 and 2022. For V85's there's one 2023 Travel which is a demo in the dull sand colour and three 2025 V85TT's.
V85's turn pretty well for them but other than V100 Mandello and Stelvios initial sales when they came out they aren't selling well. V7 sales are sluggish as well and the V9 Bobbers just sit on the floor with no one giving them a look.
