Went to meet a mate for lunch and felt like the front tyre was flat. Front Handling felt vague on cornering. Stopped and checked pressure, all normal.
Had the front ball joint replaced about 4 months ago.
Anyone know what it could be this time?

How many miles has the front tyre done:D:D

Seriously though, make sure the pressure is correct using a decent guage. Some cheaper ones are pretty vague.

Oh and hopefully you are prepared for 'what's coming'.

Do you normally ride through the winter - if not the front end will always feel a bit vague in these cold slimey temperatures.

The road wasn't covered in snow was it :augie

Firstly , check the lower yoke to fork leg clamp bolts are tight, some bikes had problems with these slackening off over time. IIRC they are 25Nm torque, but don't take my word for it, check first.

Also inspect all other suspension components such as the front telelever arm bearings at the side of the engine: try jacking under the sump whilst on the centrestand to unload the front suspension then pull everything about and check for play.

The upper steering head bearing could have play in it, its possible that if you needed a lower balljoint you could also need a new upper bearing?

I had a front tyre which corroded inside, replaced by fitter, if all avenues exhausted maybe take it to your tyre bloke, mine had chunks about the size of 5 p pieces all over inside and the symptoms were similar.
