Valuation advice please

Only 3 months ago my 12 plated 28,000 mile triple black with luggage went for £6,000 cash ... it was MINT.

I've never really understood the time of year thing. When i get a bike i ride it all the time

But based on my own searches just 2-3 months back, i would have said 7-8k depending on its condition, mileage and accessories. Dealers were looking for roughly 8750 for 2010 TCs with 30k miles....

The time of year thing is because the majority of bikers are Spring/Summer/fair weather bikers. Think how many times you hear people referring to the biking season :thumb2

Blimey. We're you in a rush?

3 months ago i could only find a SC with the same or mileage or more for that money. And i was looking, but obviously not hard enough

Poorly advertised. If you were in the market at the time and the advert had appeared here, it would be parked in your garage now...

:D well that's cleared that up :D

Cheers though, it dies help. If it comes to it I'll ask for what I think she's worth and see what happens. One mans mint etc..

Farkles and goodies (that you liked) may not suit every buyer and will add little value to the bike. You might as well take them off and sell on eBay or on here. You will get the same price for the bike either way.

A completed listing search on eBay will tell you what they are currently selling for (against the prices people are asking).

Thanks Bendy

In this case it was the quality (and amount) of accessories that drove my purchase of the bike from this site. I wouldn't remove all the bits and the bike would be sold with all the OE equipment as well - they are what make the bike what it is - a very good example of a very good model. I would hope any purchaser would recognise that and the added value

Plus anyone who uses the word 'farkles' needs dipping in tar and deporting to America :D

Everybody's experience on this site seems to point to the opposite being true.

If you want to maximise your return, strip it and sell the basic bike and the parts separately. Extras are only worth paying more for if you were going to fit them anyway - and you're not selling it to 'you', who wants their bike set up this way. You want to maximise the number of people who are willing to buy your bike - therefore stripping it and selling the parts is the best way forward.

If you don't want to maximise your return, then 'on you go boi' (as the locals here say)... :P

My bike has lots of farkles. I like them but many others will think, "what the F is that about".

e.g. Narrow beam LED spot lamps in place of OEM aux headlights. When I sell the OEM will be put back on.
Ditto the exhaust.
Ditto the seat,
etc.
