My R1200RT is going in for a valve check/adjust, Im taking the motorcycle to the dealership,this is happening in March as I need to ride 60 miles and I dont like the salty conditions..
Anyway, I always change the oil during the winter months whilst in hibernation, my question is this, do you need to drop the oil before shimming the valves?, obviously if this is the case then I would leave the oil change until after the valve check, if not then its another job I can complete.
