I did my valves and end float again this afternoon. Right side was noisier than the left. Everything was done as i've done it before.

I had the alternator belt cover off and was using a wratchet to set engine to TDC.

Put it back together. (left alternator cover off for some reason) and powered up.

Horrendous noise of clanking from engine. checked throttle body cable housing. They were fine.

Took of the cylinder heads again and I found these on the floor a few seconds later. What have I done? :eek What are they? The side profile has an L and an R respectivly. Afraid to power up bike again. Anyone? These are TINY btw. Size of a 1cent coin.

Was your ratchet still on the crank? They look like pawls.

Your a legend in my book:D Guess what I was using to hit the end float?

You guessed it! An old broken ratchet! They must have fell out. Phew!

Also, I messed up with my measurements of the end float.

All sorted. Running and throttle body sync shortly.

Thanks.

still not sure what's funny about it but...

:D:D:D

Well, just to finish off the thread, i did the test drive and redid the end float and valves. Made SURE of tdc. i must turn the engine over a few times and check everything twice next time. Just incase I'm doing it wrong. There was no clearance on one side:eek:confused: Guess that was the noise.
Thanks for the help. Much appreciated:thumb.

There really is nothing like fixing what you broke yourself:censor::homer

I redid the valves etc because i stipped two cylinder head bolts in the process!
