Vamos ! 🇵🇹

So that’s the trip pretty much done .
We pitched up at fav hotel in St Malo , the Hotel de La Cité which has #BMSBIFP parking and a lovely local drinking establishment next door, as seen from my window

I’m here two nights . I booked the first night before ferry company published their schedules and did it on the cheaper non-refundable rate to the discover that there’s no boat tomorrow.

El Scooperoonie will leave late morning bound for his ferry out of Caen whilst I’m going to potter to Cancale par la coté to visit Doc’s favourite hotel where their restaurant serves a blinding sole meunière, though hopefully not in a broom cupboard looking at a cliff, and hopefully on a plate 😜.

Been a great trip with Scoops. Great company , some some stunning roads with great food and amazing weather. Sum total of 5 minutes light drizzle in nearly 2 weeks away . Though rain is forecast tomorrow.

I’ve done 2300 miles since leaving home on the mighty Vstrom 1050. It’s averaged 57.8 mpg.Exceeeded expectations in every way -infact it’s the best fitting adventure bike out of the box for my frame I’ve ever owned. Probably the best motor too. The fuelling is utterly perfect as is the quick shifter , with great brakes and planted handling .

Apart from losing a few trim panel bolts enroute, I can’t fault it . Weird really, as it was never on my radar, along with most other people and I only tried it as it was for sale at dealer , just 6 months old and 600 miles , and I’d taken wife’s BMW in for a service so took it as a loan bike for the day, then promptly bought it .
It’s certainly a keeper, at least for the foreseeable.

Thanks for reading the bollox. A trip I can thoroughly recommend .

Best part -lunch with att and family . Nicest bloke on here , though most of you are cuñts anyway 😜

Right, fuck this, that Oirish place is calling me 🍺

Thanks for that....'Trip reports' is usually my first port of call on the site and this report is a worthy addition.
Always good to enjoy ...vicariously....a trip which has new roads, new hotels and new grub! And a new bike!
Ta.

It has been a most enjoyable trip with you and Steve and it was nice to finally meet you and to meet Steve as well, despite me being so boring. :D

Until the next time. :beerjug:

A rare Spyder RS with a working roof

Mine works. Or rather in as much works, as you can take the roof on and off.

What doesn’t work is the ‘Red Warning. Do not drive’ thing. Or, more exactly, that works rather too well….. lighting up whenever it feels like it.

Anyway, now after four months, I have received a call from Porsche East London, telling me that - after now receiving two lots of parts from Porsche AG - the car is being put back together….. mended!

Who knows, a problem that has affected cars from London to San Diego to Tokyo and back to London might have been cured by little old me.

The proof of the pudding will be in the eating, naturally.
