Van + Bike insurance?

Hi Guys,

Looking for some advice please on insuring a van and a GS on the same policy.I've tried the usual insurance companies but to no avail as they tell me the van is commercial and they won't insure a bike on a commercial policy.

So I'm wondering if any of you know of an insurance company or broker who could accommodate this or any other solutions you might have.

the only ones who I know of that give you any benefit from having both is AXA/AON
I had my van with them (AXA) , and then Aon gave me a 50% discount on my bike insurance because of it..

but to my knowledge nobody will put both on the one insurance.

I have 3 bikes and 4 cars and have on numerous occassions tried to find an ins. co. who would give me a fleet policy. Never been able to get it.

However AON do insure all 3 bikes comprehensive on the same policy and it only costs an extra €50 per year. Though that's probably not much use to you.

If you do find a policy to cover both, let us know. I'd be very interested to hear about it.

I found this earlier but I don't know if it's applicable to ROI,maybe give Carole Nash a ring and ask about their '6 wheel policy'.

Hi Fred,

Last month when my bike insurance was due I rang Aon for a quote. They were not competitive compared to Carole Nash. They said that if I had my car with them too, It would be competitive for the two combined.

Asked for a car quote too, and nearly fell over laughing. They wanted more than €500 more than Carole Nash and AA combined.

Needless to say I still have two policies.
