Anybody had a problem with the expander lever/mechanism on these boxes. Right hand one seems seized solid and wants to distort the box if you try to force it. Not very old and have never been dropped or anything like that. Had a bit of damp in but nothing that these things should be able to handle.!!Any ideas welcomed

Get some lube in betwen the two halves...

I've taken them apart before now, it's just a series of cogs, quite simple. Bit of lube and they're good to go.

The usual cause is grit/sand etc caught in between the two halves. I would take them apart clean them but don't lube the outside as the grit etc just sticks to them again. If they are like mine were, the plastic all scored and covered in deep ridges just go at them with some very fine wet and dry.
I used a bit of dry chain lube on the internal cogs etc. Seems to be fine at the moment. There are alignment marks for 'timing' the mechanism.

Thanks for all the help. Took em to bits and realigned and cleaned. Bit of a fiddle but sorted
