....is a friggin pain 
After a 'coming together' with a van on my way to last years LLLlanangggollllenn the L pannier was ripped from the bike. The front left mount socket was ripped off and the pannier locking mechanism looked like this. (the old part on the right on top of the repaired lock).

Well I finally got round to having the time and motivation to fix it.

The pannier - in its extended form when damaged - had also popped the inner section over the outer sliding section necessitating me taking the whole thing apart. Not clever.
Took all of three hours to work out how to refit the gear cogs and levers which form the expanding mechanism at each side of the case.
In short - if you ever have to do this - call me first and I'll talk you through it.
