Vario top box

Spot on mate, would you mind reviewing it when you get it thx?
You buying from that link?

No, I'm currently working in sales in a Motorrad dealership so I get a wee bit off the price.... :)

Hiya,

Not as far as I'm aware, I had to change from the old to the new with the wc model. Unless anyone knows differently I believe the bracket is different.

Thanks for that, looks like I`ll have to buy a new one then...

Regarding the new top box - does this attatch straight onto the rear of the wc or do you need an additional bracket?
Cheers.

There is an additional bracket to get the topbox to fit the bike. And I have been told that the old topbox does not fit the new LC bike.

Hope this helps.

Finally got round to fitting the luggage plate to the bike tonight with the able assistance of my son. There weren't any fitting instructions in the box so we had to work it out from scratch.

It looks great. Do you think the back rest might dig in your back if it had one fitted (mine has).
The only thing I think I wouldn't like would be losing the support the rear seat gives you at the bottom of your back.
How does it compare without that support?
Sorry for all the questions...

I haven't ridden it like that yet. I'm going out on it later today and I might have a better idea then. That's my son sitting on the bike and he's quite a lot taller than me. In any event I always wear a back protector, either in my jacket or a separate one. I was actually thinking it might be good to fit the back pad to the topbox. Also, given the angle that it sits at, it will inevitably be closer to my back when it's in the extended position. We shall see.... :nenau

Having been out on the bike for most of the day. At 5' 9", rather than my 6' tall son, in the picture, I've found that when I'm in a normal riding position and with the top box in its unextended position, there's about 3" between my jacket and the front of the top box. A backrest on the topbox might just make contact with my back. Also I don't usually get much in the way of support from the pillion seat.

HTH

Can I come and have a sit on yours lol.
Thanks for the feedback.

Of course you can - just drop me a line when you're next going to be in Fife. Or....there's a tentative plan to be in the Borders on Thursday of this week.
