Varta/Yuasa YTZ14S battery fitting

Miff is spot on with his advice, dont fanny about with canbus, just go straight for the battery terminals. If your battery is going flat just by sitting in the garage then either the battery is shagged or more likely you have something draining it slowly i.e. alarm. Better still dont leave it sitting in the garage, get out and ride it every day!:thumb

All lead acid batteries including AGM like Odyssey self discharge and build up hard non reactive sulphate that eventually kills the battery. They all benefit from a conditioning charger like the Optimate.
To connect keep it simple and wire in the charging plug supplied with the charger.

Well, I had the Odyssey checked out by the AA (yes i had to resort to a Home Start service!!) and the test kit said 'Replace Battery'!, bike charging circuit and earth was spot on so can only be the battery - so its on its way back to Motorworks for testing. I've said i'll take a replacement battery but am seriously considering an alternative make now!!!

You could try a Ballistic.
Light weight
no acid to spill
can use all of its charge capacity without damage.
Lose only 10% charge over 12 months in storage.
They behave differently in cold conditions but will start a bike after a few attempts have warmed the cells.
Only snag is 2x the cost of an AGM. Which is why I have an Odyssey.
