Dear All,
has anybody tried Alpinestars Vector boots?
Views?
A harder question now - does anyone know somewhere that actually stocks them?
Thanks

Luckily the shop let me try them on and sit on my bike before i handed over the dosh,
good job really as i could'nt operate the gear lever :(

Gates :)

It'd be worth finding someone who's had some and has broken them in...I had big problems adjusting to my Sidi Couriers when I first got them and they took a while to break them in before i was confident in feeling the gear change again........

I have been using a pair regulary for two years and they do eventually break-in (give them a few weeks).

Great protection - have fallen off heavily twice and didn't feel a thing.

The main drawback it they leak like a sieve.

Regarding A* Vectors

I too have been looking for these, I know MCA Leicester stock them, although they are quoting £199.95 as opposed to the £189.95 everyone seems too. They are discontinuing the line when their stocks finish and I am led to believe the Tech 6's are taking over where they left off. Sondels in London also do them but they are a fair distance from you.
Regards AndyR.
:D

I've got a pair of vectors, very comfortable, had a few issues with gearchanging on bikes with small gearlevers , requireing a twist of the foot in to get hooked under , probably b'cos the boot is fat/round . And they also leak like sieves , and now smell like a manky dog due to getting soaked. PS drying out isnt an overnite affair unless u place them somewhere warm stuffed with newspaper etc as the lining that makes them V, comfortable acts like a sponge, which feels dry to the touch until u squeeze it (with ur dry foot/sock) and wonder where that damp feeling is coming from.

I have had a pair of vectors for a while now and they did take a bit to break in but once they had I have found them a great boot to get on with :) . I agree it dose take a bit of getting used to changing gear with them, I think you’ll find this is due to the thick mid-sole area around the instep lifting your foot higher on the peg. But once broken in no problem.

Be warned they are not the most waterproof boot out there :( but I have found that a pair of sealskinz’s underneath is all that’s needed (see sealskinz’s thread):D .

They offer good protection and a easy and efficient clasp system. I have found them very comfortable to wear all day and can walk about in them without to much problem.

As for stockist’s try Hein Gericke they hold them, lastly don’t forget they are marked up in US sizes.
