I know, it doesn't make a whole lot sense when it comes to the value for money tick box.

Dont let the plastic fairing put you off - just make sure you fit some good engine bars. Mine and another nearby bike got blown over by the wind, the engine bars saved pretty much everything. I only had a barely noticeable scuff on the bar ends and top box which polished out anyway.

If Honda knocked off some weight and improved the handling just a bit, Id be back on it in a shot.

Cheers,

Mike

PS: Used to get 260 miles to a tank on my 05 model, and that wasn't hanging around - its 160 with the KTM :doh

If you get one and fit engine bars be careful. A mate of mine fitted his and was a bit heavy handed with the spanner. He put a hole in the crankcase and had to find a second hand engine. apparantly it was an easy mistake and he is well used to mechanicing..

I went back to a Vara for a few months.

Agree to what Minky and Kyle have said but just to add that there are some real bargains to be had if you can buy privately. I picked up a one year old model with all the bits and luggage for £4500 - that's nearly £4000 off the list.

Not so good for whoever bought it new though:)
