Vertu BMW offers

They wanted £3k to insure me on the 1300 on a new policy.
As a guide, how much you are paying now? My insurance trebled when I wanted a quote on the GS ASA. I am paying around £270 fully comp plus Europe on the 1250RS

Sorry PCP or not, I can’t can’t get around the sheer fugliness of the 1300GSA.

That has contributed to why I’m no longer interested in the new bike merry-go-round, despite my eagerly waiting to see the new model unveiled a while back.

Now I have a penchant for an older but capable machine, with any necessary money spent on the mechanicals and electricals.

Meanwhile, I’ll mark time with my trusty and very capable 1200GSA.

All these new shiny baubles will be worth next to naff all when the Govt force us into alternative fuel machines - in the not too distant future either IMHO

The numbers in the quoted example seem odd, as total amount by the customer would pay including the payment are £21,614 on a purchase price of £20,645 not the £18,045 quoted, so am a little suspicious of them unless Im missing something (there is a deposit contribution from BMW for £1300, but that doesnt fully account for the difference).
I think the figures on the original post are wrong - the `total amount payable` should actually read `total amount of credit` which is the 20,645 cost of the bike minus the £1300 customer deposit and minus the £1300 `finance deposit allowance` from BMW = £18,045.

Seems a very good deal if figures are correct.

It does seem a good finance deal if my maths is correct, only paying about £1000 in interest over 4 years when you cancel out the £1300 they give you.

At those sort of numbers pcp starts to make more sense rather have a big lump of cash in something that is depreciating to an unknown amount.

Exactly - PcP deals like this have their use over "just paying cash"..

Insurance is a funny thing.

Bennetts wouldn't renew the policy for my 2014 GS1200 LC last week.

"We can't quote for next year I'm afraid" wouldn't say why.

Got it for £230 from another provider.

If computer says no for whatever reason that's it I guess?
