Vibration new GS

...the contrast between a K1200 S and a boxer twin will be even more noticeable because the bike is so new.... you may also have because it was a demo ride, gripped the bars tighter than normal all adding to your numbing experience. sure the GS is a little vibey but nothing like what you had.......

Handle bar Vibration

I also have a 1200 GS 08 with only 3200mm miles on the clock. The vibration I got through the handle bars at 4000- 5000 rev's going down the motorway to other week caused so much aggro that I was considering if I brought the right bike. I've tried to change gloves to thicker winter gloves, Iv'e moved the handle bars forward. The bar end weights are heavier than what you could buy across the counter. Now I have foam strappled over the heated grips. I can't wait to hit 6000 mile to get this seen to. Would rubber strips under the handle bar clamps , or silicone pumped inside the bars be advised ?

Seriously, try having the wheels balanced. I had vibes that just wouldn't go away despite pestering the dealer about throttle balance and valve settings. Then I bought some new tyres and hey presto, no vibes!

To take it a bit further, dump the 'trail' tyres and fit a pair of decent road tyres. They improve the road handling/cornering no end. Also I think a GS looks good with road tyres, not sure about a GSA though...pics anyone?

No Vibes on my 08GSA 12 was advised to run it in at 4-5000 rpm even up to 5500 and its very smooth.it has remus headers and an akro pipe with the baffle in for now but no numb hands ,unlike my old KTM990SM which was torture after 50 miles!!
