Hi Folks, ideas/advice please..

UK Advrider rally at weekend, took bike off roading. Not problems riding down to the event. All well. No problems all saturday pounding it over rocks etc. R1150GS (standard) went like a train and was great.

Sunday on ride home I noticed a desernable vibration in fourth gear only, and not all of the time only when I get above around 55mph.
Goes away in all other gears.
I believe there is some noise as well but hard to tell with my tinitus and tour-x lid and ear plugs.

I have the tyre changed today due to a puncture and no slack in final drive that i could feel.

The vibration is constant, so not intermittant like another issue I found with the adventures (though could it be same thing??). It also seems to get worse the faster i go above 55mph??

Views appreciated. I am going to try to speak with one of the mechanics at blue bell tomorrow about it on the phone and see what they recon.

Cheers..John

Nearly but not quite..

Bryn cheers, I spotted that on a search.. however that problem seems to be encountered on GSA's and mine is a bog standard, also the vibration is constantly present above about 55mph and not there below that speed.
Its not a thrum thrum thrum noise its constant.. but goes away when i change to fith. There are no vibrations in any of the other gears.

It think that rules out bearings/drive shaft (as vibes should be present all the time??)

So anyone got any ideas??

Changing down..

When accelerating/engine braking and tighting corners where 5th is too lax..

Dont tell me you never go faster than 55mph in 4th gear, steptoe..
