Hello there
I have just returned after a 2 longish trips, left Holland 6 weeks ago and went to Bosnia and back via Ireland, half way thru the trip I started to notice that I was feeling vibrations in me right hand, I'm riding a 1150 gs adv 2002.
Could it be that me brake pads are worn out a bit? I did notice a bit more play in the brake lever.
Me mate has the same bike from 2004 and when on the centre stand his front wheel spins freely but mine doesn't, when I spin it it stops more or less straight away, any advice welcome thanks lads.

whip the calipers off and make sure the pistons are not all crudded up, check the pads at the same time and maybe worth balancing the TBs as they cause vibration if way out. :thumb2

Hi,
Do you feel those vibrations when you brake only? If it is all the time and you have Metzeler tires, it could well be tire deformation.

Main cause for any vibes will be your valve adjustments . If it was your brakes you'd be feeling it through the whole handle bar and I'm sure why someone thinks tyre deformation would cause vibration in one hand  Get those volves checked and adjusted.

Thanks for the advice lads .
I'm planning to get a full service very soon, or as soon as the credit card bill comes in after me holiday to see whats over to pay for a service.
I have metzeler tourance tires , i'll ask at the garage to check the valves cause I have no tools and am parked on the busy street with no room to do a repair job on me bike, oh and I wouldn't know how more than likely.

I fitted a Wunderlich so called "cruise control" friction knob.

This has actually increased the vibes due to it's lower mass compared to the standard vibration damper! The left grip is OK.

I don't engage it all the time
- just for 30 mins or so on a motorway and this allows me to excercise my right hand. I would not like to use it on A roads.

An acquaintance (who has been through the Police training) said that they were told to grip the throttle between thumb and 2 fingers.
