I have just recently bought a bullet camera which can attach to my AV socket on my dv video camera. I am hoping to try and set it up on the bike. Should I set the camera on the bike or put it on my motorcycle helmet? Has anybody got a set up which they can recommend or advice? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers baz

i have used both the helmet and the on bike method and on bike one is the best.
on my RT i used a suction mount on the side panel which got a good angle.

the helmet one got a lot of head turning and odd views i have also made a switch so i can have two cameras working either helmet or on bike or rear view if i want to.

Thanks. I think the bike one will as you say be a better option. I think the top of the mudguard on my 1150GSA will be the best place.

Hi

I have got one fitted to my bike.

i fixed it onto the BTBR and Migsel light bar. :thumb

I will post some picks later.

the only problem i have got it transfering the bloody clips from my sony ip7e camcorder to the pc... as of yet i still cant do it. :( :( :(

But it does look good when i play it back on the TV..

There's a 1200 GS in Carmarthen with a RAM mount attached to the right hand crash bars - just for mounting an on board camera. It looks Really secure and a good angle too I would have thought. :thumb

Picture of camera mount as promised

Gives a great angle and great pics,,, just a bloody shame i can not upload it to my pc

Thanks for the response folks and the piccies mark. I have managed to make a sort of bodget and scarpa type of attachment using velcro and a piece of foam and placed it in the top of the mudguard. I do like your light setup mark so as and when i get round to getting some it looks like an ideal place! I would love to say i could help you with the downloading your piccies but sadly i can't best of luck though! I have just picked up some extension leads for the bullet camera so will fit it tonight and give it a whirl. So standby for update!

If you're camera is a Sony or Canon then the sport Lanc controller from these guys is a great bit of kit http://www.rfconcepts.co.uk/helmet_cameras.htm. It puts the camera in the right mode, pauses the camera and will even switch it off when you are not fillming - All from one button.

I've got a bullet camera mounted on a helmet. The filming from it's great but it is a pain with the leads and the camera is forever getting knocked, having it mounted on the bike simplifies things but you do miss out on some good shots.

Thanks for the update re the lanc control rob. I have already bought one as i did not fancy stopping and starting every five minutes to turn the recorder on and off. I think i will try both setups on the bike and helmet to see which gives the best result. cheers barry
