VIN numbers

Can anyone point me to Vin number table for 1150 GS 's so that i could check if a particular bike was Import to the UK ?

I have tried a few sites without any luck, also the Adventure model am i correct that it was an option of a low first gear, but in general is the Adventure overall gearing lower that 'normal' GS ie 6th gear

If you quote the last 7 digits of your frame number to a dealer they can enter it on the BMW system and it will tell them if it is an import.
The ADV came with a sports gearbox (from R1100S I suspect) so had a lower first and 6th.
The standard gearbox was sometimes refrred to as overdrive and came from the RT. You could option it duing build on an ADV so some will have come with it.
A dealer when checking your frame number can give you a print out of the factory build spec including the date is was made.

Vin Numbers

Tried that vin number site and my 1200 came up as a 650 GS. Went to the dealer and he printed out my details and the bike was shown as as a week three build of January 2005.

Try your dealer he should not have any problem helping you. If he does ring customer services and they should provide.
