Whilst on a quick blat up to Scotland on my 18 month old 1200gs I stopped in Selkirk for some scoff. Returned to bike and it was deader than a dead thing :blast.

Phoned Vines of Guildford to see if I was missing something obvious especially as they had serviced it the week before. They were as helpful as they could possibly be at the end of a phone and it was nice to hear a friendly voice. Decided that the battery had failed but that bump starting was an option. So, after an interesting adventure with a steep carpark and accelerating towards a brick wall on a loaded GS I got it going. So a big thank you to Vines, I have always had top service from them :thumb

I then rode to Motorrad Central in Dalkieth, Edinburgh (making sure that I didn't stall). Explained the problem, limited time available, holiday weekend etc, etc :(and asked if they could look at it. They were polite, pleasant and professional and crammed my bike into their service schedule. 1 hr 30 mins later I was back on the road. They had such a great "can-do" attitude and I really appreciated it. I owe them a big thank you for getting me going and salvaging my much longed for weekend in Scotland:clap:clap:clap. (Which was just fantastic by the way).

I'm very happy with Vines and similarly, if I moved to Edinbugh or the Borders, I'm sure that I'd be very happy with Motorrad Central. I have no connection with either other than being a happy customer. Credit given where due!
