Friday 16th May
Portsmouth to Santander
Two nights on board, the 9th time I’ve crossed the Bay of Biscay and the 9th time it was as flat as a pancake.
Food on board was (as usual) superb and having bought the voucher didn’t have to think about how much it cost.
A 4 berth cabin for 2 of us, a lot cheaper than a 2 berth cabin (are they better, bigger etc).

Three crossings for me, same.
I have to say, I really enjoy the long ferry journey usually. Gives me plenty of time to "disconnect".

Then off to Andorra (one of our group hadn’t been and has been moaning about that for years).

Next stop Ripoll for 2 nights as we met up with a friend who now lives near there. Little set back on the way. Lucky I bought a pit crew with me although they did take a while to fix my puncture, I was just starting to get a bit warm!

Met up with my friend Simon who took us to one of his climbing spots near a monastery & then on to his mountain home for lunch.

If you ever find yourself in Roanne anywhere near this restaurant, get in there, it was superb, a family run buffet with local produce.

9 days on the bike, 2060 miles, some amazing hotels, some dodgy hotels, great food, great roads, great scenery.
It rained most nights with some thunderstorms, we got dressed in full wets 4 times and each time had to stop 20 minutes later because it was too hot. We had a total of an hours rain on the bikes split across 3 days. It was 12 degrees on one day otherwise a pleasant 18-24. It cost me £1250 for the whole trip
