Good evening, I'm collecting my 1st ever GS on Friday and I'm excited but nervous tbh, I have only ever rode sports bikes, but unfortunately my back and arms are telling me it's time to hang up my power ranger suit and grow up!!! Lol, so I've opted for the GS after many many people telling me about them, I've just volunteered my time for the Blood bikes which I know I'm going to love and they all seem a fantastic bunch of people, so the sports bike wasn't going to be great for that purpose.

Now as I said I'm a virgin to this bike and I have bought a 2012 GSA, she is beautiful and has such road presence compared to a sports bike. I have only just joined this site today to speak to folk and learn all about this awesome machine to which I will get to know very well.

This style of riding with totally new to me so obvs I'm going to take my time to get to know here before I open her up, now I'm going to take my advanced course in March which I'm looking forward to and hoping the GSA lives up to what everyone has been telling me 😃👍🏼

Thanks for reading 😉

Sounds very similar. I too swapped from sports bike to a 2013 gsa and have also started doing the IAM route in preparation for volunteering for blood bikes.

OMG now that's a coincidence lol nice to meet you I've done all my assessments and the like, just waiting for my bike to be ready then I'll start can't wait!

You will find the bike a totally different ride compared to a sports bike but they can hustle along when opened up. I have only done one observed ride and only just started. I'd be very interested to see how you get on and good luck with your test.

Thank you, I'll keep you posted Bungy and also good luck with your's and safe riding. I've added you as a contact if that's ok?

Do you know any good sites to go on with regards to the GSA other than this one?

I'm a little confused now lol with all the areas, I wanted some websites to visit yet I'm being told all these places. Am I having a blonde moment?? :blast

Welcome Jason. The path from sports bikes to adventure style bikes is well worn. Totally different experience but no less fun IMHO...and as somebody else has said, they will hustle when you push them. Not sports bike quick but quick enough.

Good on you for getting involved with the blood bike stuff. Something I hope to do in the future myself when life allows.

Jason
Are you having a blonde moment? No, you just have to be ready for the banter/humour/piss taking that comes with this site (and some right tossers as well!). Enjoy your bike and the wealth of knowledge within the various forums and from members ....not that you will always get the answer you were expecting e.g. Paul above...now he's a real tosser!!
