I bought a new laptop last weekend that is running Vista Home Basic and over the last few days have been loading software etc.

Tonight I have been ripping CD's to the laptop and now wish to transfer them to a 4GB SD card for a mate to use in his Zumo.

The laptop does not have a card reader installed, but I have a USB reader specifically for SD cards.

My problem is that the computer does not "see" the 4GB card. It can see a 512MB and a 1GB card, so why not the 4GB? :nenau

Any ideas chaps?

TIA

As a temp workaround put the card in your camera, plug that in then see if it shows as a drive in Windows Explorer, if it does move the files over to the card :thumb2

Try typing NEW SDHC SD MMC MiniSD Memory Card Reader USB 2.0 into e-bay. They have some nice small card readers that can slip into your pocket.

Bought one last month for 25p including postaage from Hong Kong - unbelievable but works a treat.

Now seem to have doubled in price - 50p!!! Outrageous

I bought a new card reader on Amazon for 50p and it arrived today. Problem solved. Thanks all. :thumb2
