I have recently got a Zumo 550 and am surprised and sometimes confused at the timing of the voice turn instructions. I find that the final instruction on the approach to a turn - "Turn left now" is given very often 200m before the actual turn. I am often left having to look at the display to decide which "left turn" to take which rather defeats the purpose of the voice instructions.

Is this a common feature to all Zumos? Is there a fix. I am used to Copilot sat nav which gives you a 1 one mile warning, 300yard warning then a turn instruction which it gives about 10 yards from the turn.

Turn on the TTS

Hi there,

Zumo 550 has Text to Speech which can help you here (Zumo 500 doesn't have this feature)

Text To Speech tells you 'Turn left onto High Street' instead of 'take next left' which can be useful if you are confused about the turns to take.

Choose a TTS voice on your unit to switch this on
