Just strap the + wire onto a spare + tang on the fuse board, one that goes off when the ignition is switched off. That's what I done.

Can see the logic of that, less mess and wiring inside the headlight area. Downside is taking the wire up the the bars, but at least with my airhead once the seat is off, there's only 3 pipes to remove, undo the clip and off it comes
Get a male and a female spade connector (sheathed - stop sniggering, Thunder) and a length of wire. Cut two inches off the wire so you now have a long and a short bit. Stick the male on the end of the short bit, and stick the other end of the short wire plus one end of the long wire into the female connector.
You can then pull the connector off the ignition switch and insert your new piggyback loom in place. You now have the feed you require which can also be put back to standard if you wish, no need for cutting into the original loom at all.
I wonder who gave the link Might be worthwhile buying shares in the company, or do you own it
Don't want to empty you garage of usefull bits and pieces The flag ones are ones I never found using google, and for them to supply sheaths for them as well
3 core wire taken from the volt meter, down the bar's following the path of existing wire sheath and into the head light shell for the fuse board. 1 goes to earth, the other to a switched positive tab and the other (for the light) goes to the parking light tab. Easy peasy, job done and it wont look a mess.
