Poor Smeato indeed. Looks like he is going to be getting exploited due to his own fame. Has done well for himself since his actions at Glasgow airport. He was the face (if not the actual one) who comprehensively demystified the terrorist "bogeyman"
Up to that point we had been on a spiral of Muslim extremist terrorism where we were starting to feel helpless and powerless.
I fly medium haul (6-10 hour flights) on average once every 5 days, it was really starting to get to me.

Smeato was one of a group of people who were on hand when two misguided erseholes decided they would make my traveling life even harder.

I was overjoyed when I heard about Smeato and his buddies kicking them in the head (anywhere else that hurt) and would have been happier if I'd known at the time that they had terminal burns while they were being kicked.

He may not be the sharpest tool in the box, who cares?
Do you really need more sharp politicians? Do you really believe that they do anything to our society (politicians) how can we still need new laws after all the time we have been a civilised democracy?

If the Italians can elect a porn star, we can elect a wee ned.

The guy made more difference to the wellbeing and "feelgood" factor for so many people who travel that he deserves to have an easy time of it.

I have no problem with 'theme candidates' but the whole point of the party system is the formation of government (something which needs to happen irrespective of what we think about our political parties, 650 independents do not run a country)......as for 'Smeato', he's a bloody idiot, lured by some snake to sit in front of the cameras and spout a lot of rubbish, his vacant stares were painful to watch, god help us if the voting public think this is the solution to the problems we face, it's activism in the main political parties that will bring the turnaround we all need......
