what is the best ferrry route or operator to get to Wales, Swansea, from Galway?
thinking of getting to the off road course on 01/02Oct.
Setting off on a Friday and back on the following Monday
thank you
Josey

Stena line Rosslare to Fishguard is your best bet I' say looking at the map.

Myself and Jockser were over there Sept last year for the same reason and skilled as he is in route-planning this is what he came up with (which I highly recommend): Dublin Port to Holyhead late on Fri, overnight about an hour from the ferry near Mt Snowdon Nat Park, Sat travelling down through Wales on some amazing roads, everything from fast twisty ones to boreens and taking in some fantastic scenery, Sun and Mon on the course and back through Pembroke on the afternoon ferry on Tue.

Let me know if you want any of the details.

I have a job, being in hoc the american 'employers'.
[it is either this or the dole, I tried.]
I don't have time off, but less jobs to do at the weekend.
In theory, I could be working from anywhere whith a reasonable internet connection.

I have to get as fast as possible to Wales and back.
In October there are dates available on the Sat & Sunday.
If I use the Monday to get back, I could do some work before I set off, or on the boat.
Flying via DUB and the headache to get to Ystalyfera, plus too much for the ticket.
Train or bus don't seem to be too user friendly either.
Train/ferry takes at least 10 hours via DUB
I guess the fastest would be cross the country to Rosslare and then to Fishguard or Pembroke.

Haven't found a unified website with the best travel 'lookup'
Thanx
Josey

rosslare

times are better

70 k more in ireland but the crossing is shorter

bit twisty thru wales as the motorway doesnt start till swansea :blast

wouldnt go via dub (although it would be the craic if you had the time)
