Just fitted this part to new bike. For those contemplating the same I hope the following helps. The installation is not quite as easy as first seems. The weight of the bike on the rear wheel has to be right to allow the main existing bolt to be released. If the bike is jacked up at all on the rear wheel it will not work as the holes do not line up and existing bolt cannot be removed.
Now it’s fitted my observations fwiw are as follows. It’s well made and sturdy, looks good also. How effective it works only time will tell. One observation though is why Puig designed it the length they did. It really needs to be longer in length towards the rear of the bike which would still look good and prevent more dirt being thrown up. Had a mudsling fitted before to keep the crap off the rear shock. It worked well but see no point fitting this as well as the hugger. So as an aside if anyone wants to buy a mudsling let me know.
