Want one, but concerned about reliability

Just to complete the thread... I eventualy took the plunge. Trading my beloved FJR for an 08 GS (only 1,600 miles on the clock!) with luggage & dynamic/premium packs.

Took it for a 2 hour test this afternoon. It's TOTALY different to my current bike, but still fun and strangely ecentric (how long does it take before you stop pressing the horn when trying to signal left? ).

Pick it up on Thursday. Just hope I haven't made a big mistake.

Expect I'll be asking loads of silly questions in the next few weeks.

You won't regret it, I sold my GS1200 to get the Tenere so I could do some off roading in France and some Rallies in Wales, BUT I will be changing next year and getting a GSA.

I rode my GS1200 back from Italy last year 1,200 mile in 23 hours, very comfortable no aches or pains, used the autostrada in Italy then avoided the motorways until I got to Reims.

Bought mine as 'Approved Used' three years and 15,000miles ago, let the warranty go after the first year. Not a huge mileage, I know, but I never set off expecting it not to get me back, and no disappointments so far.
