Looking for something to use for touring with a passenger. Condition more important than mileage.

I’m in Fife, but will travel for the right bike.

I've had my eye on this for a bit, Glynn. Over priced for an 1100 but then again, has low miles and decent history? I'd always tend to go for a late 11RS rather than the 1150 which had servo abs etc. Worth a look and some serious haggling?

Hi Pete

Funnily enough I know the guy selling it and I went to see and ride it yesterday afternoon. From 6 feet you might agree with the “mint” description but closer inspection showed it to be less than.

It needs two tyres and a new front shock, making the total price far more than it’s worth. Also has some fairing damage. The fuel pump has a distinct & constant whine, though I don’t know if that’s just a feature. My 1150 pump was silent.

Thanks for thinking of me though!

Cheers

Caveat emptor! I'll keep my eyes open though. The later 11RS's were great bikes. Finding a good one nowadays is a different matter!

You should be able to pick up a nice 1100RS for very little money. Plenty around, and if serviced properly they last well (avoiding the earlier models with the iffy gearboxes).

I found the RS to be a really comfortable mile muncher.

This is for sale not far from me. Look like a good price to me. Moonraker have a good reputation, in fact my sister’s partner recently bought a GUZZI V7 from them, also at a good price.

Thanks, Mark. It looks good and sets a realistic value by which to judge other bike too. It’s a very long way away from me though.

I know how far Fife is. I have ridden there many times as I used to work on The Open and had many meetings at St Andrews. If you would like me to look it over for you just let me know. Good luck in your search.

Guy in my BMW Club Section is selling this R1150RS. Knowing Ashley it will be in good order. PM me if interested and I'll put you in touch.

It does look nice and I loved my R1150R. I just find it depressing when folk hand over to AI to write their ads 🤦‍♂️
Are you saying it's not thrilling powerful and sleek...😆 Bloody AI everywhere... We'll have to develop sarky AI...

Really? That would explain the bizarre prose right enough! Maybe Glynn should use AI to compose a suitable rejection if it turns out to be a shitter! :D
