Warped Discs (AGAIN!)

MikeO,

Do us a favor and keep an eye on the pad retaining pins (big pins that go through the caliper and pads). See how "cruddy" they get, and how much brake drag occurs when they go from nice and clean to nasty and gross.

Personally, at every oil change I take out the retaining pins and clean them up with a scrubby pad. Ever since I had to get new rear pads after my first 10,000 km. Only because the rear retaining pin wouldn't let the pads "relax".

Hi Guz,

way ahead of you. Every time the pads & discs have been changed, so have the pins. They're cleaned & lubricated each service (42k miles since Mar 02 = very regularly).......

Mike:)

Hi Mike. Kind of worried now, after a 3000mile "Holiday" my front brake seems to be "pulsing". Bugga!

Mike O helpful info...

As Mrs Garmin would say "off route, we're calculating"......well if you look at a new thread I'm posting (Warped Disc prevention and checks) It may be just as helpful to you as her that must be obeyed!
