Warped Discs?

I was having a slightly closer look at my front disks the other day (dick lock wouldn't lock for some reason) and I think the pulsing feeling I'm feeling may not necessarily be caused by warped disks. It looks like the bike has stood for a while and the disks are pitted for most of the surface except for clear patches that are about disk pad sized.

I'll take a much better look when I replace the disks and pads tomorrow.

Update: Fitted new front disks & pads. 5,500 miles later and all was well until the last week or so. The pulsing has returned and is as bad as it was with the old discs.

The new discs still look perfect.

Any more thoughts anyone?

I found a fix for my brake lever pulsing problem.

Summary. Shortly after buying my 2002 GS I felt the front brake lever pulsing. Fitting new brake disks fixed the problem. The exact same problem returned after 6,000 miles or so.

Fix. I removed the brake disks and found some muck and crap had worked it's way inbetween the brake disk and the mounting. A couple of minutes with a wire brush got the faces of the mounting cleaned up and the I put the disks back on and went for quick test ride.

Result. Problem solved.
