Bike just had its MOT. Dealer noted that the front disc's had some run out.
Setember 2004 bike with 20600 miles. Bike passed MOT and dealer has a service instruction No. 21/2008. Where bikes upto 3/4 years old with x ( sorry can not remember the amount) amount of miles disc's are replaced free. Bike 3/4 years old over 20000 miles disc's replaced free you pay for the labour.
Mine is booked in for the new disc's later this month.

TY very much guys appreciate the feedback. I'm sure my dealer will be okay about it they have always been good in the past.

My Discs where replaced under warranty in April this year at 6000 miles (R1200RT) due to them being warped. Came back from the Bol two weeks ago and discs are warped again !! (5500 miles)

Been in touch with dealer and Bmw say that they will replace the discs with the new 'floaty' type BUT I will have to pay the labour  Is it My fault that BMW cant make a wheel that doesn't warps discs?

I cannot afford to replace discs every 6000 miles. Bike is a 2006 and the warranty ran out in June.

Since I have had the bike :

1. It has 'spontaneously combusted' resulting in a complete new wiring harness ,fuel tank and ZFE.

2. Needed New Battery

3. Will now be getting its 3rd set of front discs.

4. Mirrors vibrate so much that they are unusable

5.Various spurious Electrical Glitches

In the last 12 months i have put nearly 13 grand over the the counter of the dealers. For that amount, I expect quality and reliability.:spitfire

Rant Over

Sorry no link. Blue Bell advised me the instruction is number 21/2008.

Just had the work done last Friday by Pidcocks of Long Eaton due to Blue Bell closing.

Calterdon of Inverness were very good, as usual, and have replaced discs under warranty no dramas so all good.

warped discs

Took my 05 GS into CW at Dorchester for 18k service and mentioned juddering brakes. Got front discs replaced free and paid for labour. Apparently the limit is 4 years or 40k kilometers. Marked difference on ride home. Also spotted leak from clutch that they are doing under warranty but again i've got to pay labour and it must be done within 30 days of being identified.
