Ok, so not the longest trip or that hardest in the world, but it was MrsDave's first adventure out of Warwickshire on two wheels since her accident, and also her furthest away from home on her own bike ever..
Anyway, having fully fuelled the bikes in Warwick, we headed off up the fosse, then cutting across through Stretton under Fosse, nice flowing country roads, before heading up towards Lutterworth, then on up the A4304 and MrsDave's first time ever on a dual carriageway on her two wheels (we well all have to start somewhere).. then on through Husbands Bosworth to Market Harborough. Stopping there for a bite to eat, have a drink and loo stop..
Then taking the B6047 up to Melton Mowbray.. what can I say about this road.. i love it, up, down, left, right it was one of those roads that I could have ridden up and back for hours.. well it would have been if it wasn't chucking it down with rain and the wind blowing straight across the road.. but if you're in that area I would suggest you take a little ride down it..
After stopping in Melton Mowbray, another bite to eat, drink and loo stop.. headed up the A606, which is an ok road, but abit dull after that B road.. Then up the A46, which we we got there found has a 40mph limit, which wasn't as bad as we first thought as the wind up there was trying it's best to blow us off the road, so nice and steady does it..
Then up across up the A6097, and up the A614 and the A57 up and into South Yorkshire.. These are slightly less interesting roads, but with the day getting on and MrsDave starting to feel the distance of riding her furthest ever, they were more than interesting enough for her.
Then a couple of days later, we came home, reverse of the above.. and her first ever overtake.. yep an overtake on a 125 (ok so it was a tractor, but first time for everything)
She's abit knackered, but I'm proud of her for doing it. And she's still not had to refuel, we think she's got around 100mpg ish
So that's my first every ride report, hope you found it interesting, sorry no photos, although MrsDave might have one or two on her phone..
Dave
