Was booked into Sycamore Motorrad for a dianostic on the failing suspension, 20 minute task at 2pm.Arrived early and waited only to find out they had forgotten to do the job and gave me a b#llsh*t excuse. No apology. If they were honest I wouldnt be posting this.
They may need the bike for an hour or a day or longer, couldn't say !
Thats twice I"ve been messed around there, has anyone got experience of Group 1 in Norwich for warrenty work, bike needs a full software update. I'm thinking of trying them from now on.
Any thoughts appreciated

With any software updates I would be tempted to leave the bike at the dealership, it is a very regular occurance that the updates need two or three attempts to actually successfully download.
On my first r1200gsa lc it had numerous ecu updates regarding the ESA , the GSAP unit(s) and other issues and it was never a first time success.
On the second new R1200GSA it was missing the computer pro and that took four attempts and a specific factory programme to work.
Similarly on my current R1250 GSA the recall for the software update regarding transmission issues took 3 attempts to download correctly.
SO if each attempt can take either one hour or six hours it is easy to understand why they can be loathed to quote a time frame for the job.

Agree it takes time, point I am making is the waste of time and poor customer service, and to add , not being given a valid reason.
Going to try Group 1 in future

I’ve used Group 1 for planned service and very pleased with the work. Tech who did the work is ex-Lind Norwich and had worked on my bikes before (‘17 1200 GSA & ‘20 1250 GSA) Never had an issue and always spoke to me at collection. I am happy to recommend this but can’t fulfil your warranty subject.
Can you just clarify if it’s Sycamore Witham or Peterborough. I’m not a fan of Witham…..

Thanks, I"ll book in there, it was Peterboro.
They also managed to underfill the oil on the sevice 🫩

Agree. .. i wont vent here, not impressed so far, after years of Kawasaki service being 100%

Bought mine from Peterboghorror, but not been back since (due to geography) but thanks for the tip.

I plan to visit Ethan at Lawshall, independent in Sudbury next time.

Group 1 ( south coast ) . spent 25 mins chatting with my friend , who has left there after 6 weeks , cos they are shite to work for , dubious practices in the workshop, he was NOT a happy bunny. despite the very good pay.
apparently , a "tech" put cams in round the wrong way in an across the frame 4 . inlet on the exhaust side and exhaust on the inlet , strangely the bike failed to start.

My 2022 R1250 GSA is booked in at Vertu Shipley on 1st October for a service. It also needs a new gear lever as the bit one’s foot lifts, presses fell off last Sunday! Hopefully the gear lever is covered under warranty.

Mines in tonight ready for full service tomorrow at Williams BMW Manchester.

I have to pay £99 just so they will test the suspension? (i asked them too)
No idea why its £99 just to test it, not happy but what can you do?

Personally i think its fucked and if they ride it for 5 mins they will think so too.

H, do you have a contact number/ email for Ethan, I'm do a 12k service and don't trust Sycamore to do it. Last service they underfilled the oil, topped it up the other day but didn't run the bike up to temperature.

I can thoroughly recommend him!
FYI He’s not yet at Lawshall - currently occupying the entire Reiten site near Glemsford.
You’re welcome to pop in if you’re passing this way (Hessett - about 6 miles east of BSE

Hessett…I lived there as a boy😄
Can’t say I was impressed with Sycamore Peterborough when I made my latest purchase. So I will be contacting Liam.

Only issue I had with G1 Norwich, they agreed to buy my bike at £x. And then radio silence.

I rang the afore mentioned dealer this morning as the oil warning light came on again, ( they did the last service) they asked for photos of the sight glass - warmed up engine & cooled down,......................awaiting response email.
They topped it up last Friday when I asked for them to check.
It was overfilled - warm and cold...............when is too much oil too much oil !

Syringe time to remove some oil from the engine before real damage is done, trust a professional ...................................................:censor:
