Water removal question?

I've just given my new GSA its first clean, and found that water collects in the fins/grills/ducts or whatever they're called of the cylinder heads. I tried twisting the end of the leather to get at the water but wasn't very successful. Does anyone know A good way to remove it? I want to spray the bike with Scottoiler fs365 and can't while there's pools of water on the cylinder heads, plus I wouldn't want it to freeze overnight :-/

Hi, I use a shringe with a piece of pipe attached. Push pipe into fins suck out water, run bike for 5 mins this then burns away rest of water, job done. I know shouldn't idle bike but I've done this with all my GS' without problem. Shringes available on E-bay !

Yeah, like Mr McaFarlane I was thinking along the lines of some sort of compressed air. Failing that Snerkler, I think you should get out a drinking straw..... (you are clearly obsessed about cleaning your new bike ..... which, to be fair, I understand .... )

The jollup used comes from BuMW. Before you ask..... You can get it from a dealer's, possibly the same one you bought your bike from, with luck.

+2 on the petrol garden leaf blower. Mine is a 150 mph hair dryer for the bike.

However to get financial concurrence for a purchase like this, it is vital to tell SHMBO that it is essential to keep the garden nice and tidy. Drying the bike is simplyanother use you think of after the purchase

I've just hosed mine down after its first 200 mile run today, then sprayed Scottoiler all over....Don't worry, it won't hurt, a little bit of water can't stop a Panzerkampfwagen Mark12!!!
