Do I have to get one made?
I've revived this thread in the hope that there might be a few more tips or up-to-date info.
Where can I buy a large enough cover?
My 1200GS has a 55ltr Givi box fitted. I bought a Dri-Top XL cover for it as this was always adequate for my last GS1200, which had a Vario box. So when both the bike and cover were nicked, I replaced them both like for like. Or so I thought.
Admittedly I only ever used the cover with the previous bike on the side stand, but it came down to within eight inches or so of the ground, which seemed about right.
When the replacement cover arrived I tried to fit it over the bike while it was on the centre stand. It looked ridiculous - like a kind of mini-skirt, and left half the bike exposed.
So I took it off the centre stand and put it on the side stand, thinking that would do it. No good. It's better, but it still doesn't adequately cover the bike. I can hardly believe that the Givi box makes that much difference, but even if it does, surely it is possible to buy a cover that actually does the job it's supposed to do? I know these bikes are big - especially with a large back box - but they are also top-selling machines. Somebody please tell me that there's a cover manufacturer that's got this sorted?
My bike has to live outside, so I'm talking about a waterproof cover. Any ideas?
