When cleaning the bike the other day I noticed a label under the seat, it gave the max recommended speed when fully loaded as 110mph that is a whole 30mph higher than the recommended max for the old air/oil cooled GS which was set at 80mph.

I guess the WC must be more stable than the old bike then - certainly seems that way to me when fully loaded with luggage and two-up on the French motorways :D

I guess you must be right then :)

Then read the sticker on the panniers about the max permissible weight allowed to be carried in the panniers.

Also, are you sure it's MPH and not KPH. :D

Definitely mph :D luggage capacity same as my previous twin-cam i.e. 10kg for panniers and 5kg for top box

You might want to know that it is probably to do with the wider tyres and load rating.

Ahh, you must have one of the NOT sought after 2013 Beta models then.......................bad luck old bean........ :comfort :augie
If the 2013 bike is happy at 110mph fully loaded then I am happy with the beta model - if the new model requires a steering damper then they must have cocked up the design for 2014 - hopefully they will sort it out again for the 2016 upgrade :D

Good job I saw that sticker AFTER I did 144mph on the autobahn, with loaded panniers and roll bag.:P And no steering damper.:D

Nor on my loaded WC at 132mph. (On the track ossifer, Hic!)

Reckon these stickers have a little leeway in them.

I reckon they do too but an increase of 30mph suggests that BMW did extra testing with the LC and found that it was good for the higher speeds when compared to the older models, makes sense considering the extra power and torque that the LC has.

Yah, but you would
