WC GSA - Keep fog lights on by default?

Can anyone explain which combination of buttons/menu settings will allow me to ride and keep the two accessory fog lights on all the time? as well as a central light (drl, headlight - don't care) - I want to ride with a triangle of 3 lights constantly as I believe its much more visible.

Currently I switch them on manually on the top button on the left handlebar but when I switch off the ignition, next time I restart, they are off again.

This is on a 2016 GSA Triple Black so is all LED lights, DRL etc.

I cannot fathom out which settings to set :-0 - I think I have auto headlight set at the moment (the symbol goes off when I manually switch the lights on currently) so this is likely the culprit.

It's in the set up menu I think
I have the XE variant and set it up to do as you want
Go to set up scroll to the light symbol and press a button

I think if you turn off your auto driving lights from the computer then just turn your fogs on they should stay on.
I remember having the same issues with the combinations of button pressing!

Settings DRL auto off and that should be it

enter the setup menu on the dash, its in there. Turn DRL from Auto to Off.

Surely Mr Plod doesn't like you riding with your fog lights on when there is no fog just the same as car drivers?

In 8 years and nearly 50k miles on 3 GSAs I've never had an issue.

They are auxiliary headlights, not fog lights.

The legislation only refers to fog lights on cars & larger vehicles.

The lens would contain an 'E' sequence including the letter B if I remember correctly.

I get a few people flash me when it's dark, with the aux lights on. I just give em full beam back I think in most cases people haven't got used to LED lights yet. Cars or bikes.

But with them on I feel safer / more visible

sorry DD the OP said fog lights so that is what prompted my enquiry.

Just to expand the point a bit, if that is OK. Is there a possibility that very white lights at the drivers eye level, could blind them momentarily and cause them to veer off course thus threatening your safety.

Sure it's mentioned in the manual that they shouldn't be used unless visibility is poor like fog, but personally I want to be as visible as possible so tend to ride with them on.

Can't copy and paste from a PDF on my iPad, pages 54 to 56 in the manual is on lights, no mention of using front side lights only in poor visibility.

I have a massive gripe with people riding with there fog lights on it can blind oncoming traffic and the led head light In the lc is is bright enough.
You say you feel safer with them on why don't you buy a tank and put a light house on it that would equate to safe.

Do you by any chance where a polite notice hi viz too.

There fog lights. Not anytime I want to feel safe I'll have them on lights.

Haven't seen anything in the manual saying they are fog lights, mine are angled down slightly and I've never been flashed to turn them off. However if they did they can f--k off my lights my choice..

Fair play Marlou the ones i come across are always angled up. and i dont think they are fog light to be honest i use them when down a dark country lane but thats only on sat nights.

I don't think people with all the lights on realise how bright it is when you're approaching them. Angle them slightly down and fair enough on a dark country road but it's not much fun being blinded by the people who have the lot on (including high beam) commuting in broad daylight.

it pisses me off i see it all the time even when im 6ft up driving a lorry im still blinded them.
