The following image shows where presumably my left boot has worn the paint and some of the metal of the engine casing.

Are there any natty protective devices to avoid this phenomena

Thanks

Touratech do a carbon cover for 68 quid - http://shop.touratech.co.uk/carbon-...win-husqvarna-nuda-900-900r-clutch-cover.html

Oh for fucks sake just ride it ... it's a feckin motorcycle :D

Edit .... and yes, you're right presuming it is your left boot, the right one is in the other side :P

No complaints here ...

i knows its a bit Anal, but it seems churlish not to fix it on the next bike.

The Touratech one looks favourite, but strangely enough they don't seem to do a rear hugger, which I also want, so looks like I will have to order them separately.

Best extra you will ever buy for an F800GS is the Mudslinger ..... far more effective than any hugger ;)

i ordered a Mudsling and a Kaoko cruise control from www.sportouring.com.

I cant make up my mind on the clutch cover, I might do nothing.

Has that bike really done 115,000 miles or was that picture taken when it was new?

:)

114,500 miles actually, I lied

Not a recent photo JB but the bike is still as nice as in the photo :thumb

The full carbon covers may be ok but clag and salt collect behind those small covers.
My 1200 rear subframe was rusty in the usual areas so I decided to have it powder costed. . Despite the trapped dirt being greasy with ACF-50 it was "stored on the beach" rusty under the Tourateck boot plates.
