Weather Protection

Very nice gear, you shouldn't get very wet wearing the Pro-shell.

Incidentally how do you rate the Klim compared to the Rukka?

The Klim is definitely better in the warmer conditions as there are more ventilation zips. In the winter its on a par, although I haven't worn the very latest Rukka.

Had an F800 GS with the Wunderlich ergo vario screen and it had better wind protection than the LC with a Puig touring screen. :rob

What nonsense is this ?????? We're talking about motorbikes for goodness sake.

Ride for a couple of hours on varying roads in the rain. You're gonna be wet.

FWIW I test rode a KTM 1290 SA a few weeks ago in heavy rain and I was disappointed with the weather protection. The screen looks as if it might do a reasonable job of keeping some of the weather off the rider but actually it wasn't as good as my old 1200GS hexhead with Givi Aeroflow screen. The 1290 SA in other respects though is a stonking bike but I wouldn't want to ride any great distance in the rain on one. However I currently ride a K1600GT so I may have been a bit spoiled recently when it comes to weather protection. I can't compare it a GSA LC because I haven't ridden one in the wet but I am also interested in this subject as I'm thinking about buying one

A motorbike is certainly not as protective as a car, however you can still have fun in the wet on a bike and my GSA LC is probably the most protective bike I have had in the wet. Together with good kit it means I`m not too bothered about bad weather when I`m touring.
