Weathers kinda nice - time to ride!

13.5 degrees on the bikes external air temp gauge this afternoon and the roads where nearly all dry . . . not that I stayed on them all the time :augie

Run to Portsoy yesterday.Windy but warm

Back out today 4c, mind you no wind. Today's trip was a jaunt to local chemist for meds that developed into 60 miles.

I had a trip to Drynachan yesterday and didn't think I'd make it back...reegulator on the 690 started packing in but I managed to nurse it home !

Hope its as simple as a regulator change (y)
Will find out tomorrow afternoon when the new Mosfet Shindengen arrives :beerjug:

The stator is testing as it should and the battery is only 6 months old.

Pulled off the cover after 4.1/2 months. Unplugged the Optimate. Checked oil level & tyres.

Got suited and booted. Rolled out of garage. Slung a leg over and pushed the Go button.

Then dropped the clutch.

Was nice to be rolling again with a hint of blue sky. Bloody cold though. 8 degrees max. Engine was only running at 79 degrees.

Just a wee 50 mile shakedown for both me and the bike. It’s running like a sweetie as usual.
Though I did feel a bit of tiredness in the LH function rocker switch.

Rain, hail or shine I’ll be heading to Parks in Glasgow early on Tuesday for a new drive shaft and a couple of circlips. (Recall)

Sunny and dry, if a little bit chiily in the hills . . .

Sunshine. Shock. Took a spin round the Bridges. The long way via Glen Devon. Up and back.

A mere 75 miles.

The Big Boat is well and truly tucked up for repairs. How embarrassing.

Saw 13 DegC. Highest for a while. IMG_6883.jpeg

riding from Inverness to Cairnryan, worst trip ever last Friday, or between Dumbarton and Oban the previous Monday.
otherwise some good moments.
then the bike died near NornIrl near Banbridge.
better luck next time.

A few pictures from a favourite brew stop site at Grantown . . .

As I took the 1st picture, this little critter crawled out of a crevice in the bridges block work . . .

I think it's a Pipistrel. As I opened my oat snack bar, the rustling of the wrapper was enough for the little beasty to crawl back into its hidy-hole. Very un-expected treat on a sunny Sunday afternoon in Grantown.

Good grief Steve! That jacket! :eek

Is RAF Lossie tracking you from an AWACS? :D

(Nice to chat t'other day! Keep up the Moravian posts. :thumb )

Today was oil oil change day so I thought I’d better go warm up the engine.

8 hours and 303 miles later I pulled the hub and sump drain plugs :)

The truth is - I’ve been watching the forecast for days and today sun was promised. And boy was it good. Only reached 14 DegC so the fingers appreciated the hot grips.

Roads generally quiet and sometimes I had it all to myself. Especially the east bound road from Oban to Tyndrum.

Haven’t been on the A817 Faslane “rocket road” recently. A road closure N of Garelochhead resulted in a re-run back over the A817. Great.

ps - I’ve made a note to fill the sump in the morning.

Was off work last Friday and the forecast was fine. They were lying but enjoyed a ride out with my mate Nick anyway.

Not going to retire Steve, but have. Don’t know where I got the hours to work nowadays. Nordkapp is part of a tour group, as it was a condition imposed if Iwanted to go off for a month on the month. Not complying, as long as I know where the accommodation is I can ride how I want to get there each day.

It’s a trip I’ve long wanted to do, and only now have the option to do it.
