Weathers kinda nice - time to ride!

Beautiful day here in Kent, found some good trails too. Got a little murky closer to the Sussex border, Normally you can see the sea from here (Dingleden)

Snow on the lower hills and a chilly max of 6 degree C, which felt much colder in the rain. Sun actually shone when outside of the hills, which was nice!

Noted snow on the Caringorms this morning when out avoiding fallen leafs on wet roads, whilst enjoying 3-4 degree C temperatures.

First salt is already on the roads down here in the central belt. Noticed it on the M9 motorway a few weeks back and more in Linlithgow today. A PITA to now wash the bike after every ride.

Loving this mid-October weather and retirement. Decent run yesterday, with cracking fish and chips in Ullapool for lunch. Biggest issue was the sun 🌞 Off to wash the bike down now.

The view east as I cross the Cabrach moor – sunshine and black clouds at the same time

The “blueness” of the air in these next pictures is smoke from a huge muir burn to the west of the Cabrach. I think the big rise in wind speed had led to the burn getting away from the keepers

Bugger, bugger, bugger……..

I usually SORN my bike at the end of October.

But, my last ride was early September as bad weather and other things to do meant I didn’t get out at all since then.

It looked like November would start “mild” relatively speaking so I didn’t SORN the bike, intending to scoot up north for a night away before tucking the bike up for the winter.

Now I’m fucked for the year as a wee snag has put the kybosh on any bike riding in the near future.

Roll on 2025.
