Weekday evening rides..Pilgrim's way

This looks like something I would like to join in on. So road tyres (Tourance) will do and it is only on if not raining?

I will have to leave from central London (Cannon Street) as well - how long would the ride out to the meeting point take about ?

cannon st

well if I dare take the GS then I will be going from cannon st as well

Lets see what the weather is like next week and then we can ride out together

What time would you like to shoot of

Was in the area today and it was absolutely widdling down.......saw the top of a poplar tree snap off alongside the road too.....that was a wee bit scary........

Unless you've got large brass wossnames jangling around in your trews, it might be an idea to use smaller stuff than ADV's , (that's code for 'i'm a wuss and am now going on the DRZ unless the sun comes out for the next week') and with some of the ruts being both deep and chalky, knobblies might be in order.......

How does 6pm at the Plough Eynsford sound???

(The route I'm looking at goes from there along the A225 to the Otford junction with the Pilgrim's way, then from there eastwards)

I am around the corner in Holburn so can catch you guys on the way to the Plough. Need about 35-45 minutes from central London to Eynsford.

I shan't be taking the GS so I will be going home early to pick up the KTM.

No worries Dave

I need to get some TKC's on the beast first. So I think I am going to miss this one...aaaahhh dam

I will keep an eye out for what is coming up. I was looking for some likely minded people to go and kick up some dust, or mud if we are going by the last two days weather.

The weather forecast for next Wednesday is 23° which seems the same over the coming weekend. It is like a heatwave here man! I am going on normal tyres..What could possibly go wrong:rolleyes:

You see - no you are tempting me again....

How is the area.....I dont know the routes around here yet?

Is it OK for GS ot do you want something less on the heavy side?

Vleis,
I am going on my GS and another SA mate is coming along on the Africa Twin. Have never been on the Ridge Way so 1st for me too. If worse comes to worse we can always hopefully turn around and go home if the terrain is not suitable for our bikes.
At least then I know where it is and what it's about. If you would like to follow us to the Plough from London no problems just email or PM me. The last time I went off road in the uK was Princetown and on normal road tyres over boulders and some interesting terrain - no probs it ain't exactly the Transkei Wildcoast or JHB minedumps ;)

Vleis.......the parts that i've done have been dead easy.......a few deep ruts but the track itself is big enough to get a landy down so there is enough room to turn around if necessary.......

Plus from the sounds of it we'll number about half a dozen anyway so if there's any hefting around to do, pulling people out of holes or whatever, it won't be a major hassle......and you'll find everyone mucks in so don't worry too much.

(Ps everyone will laugh first and whoever gets stuck will have a camera pointed at them but that's obligatory:D )

Now we are talking....

The country is maybe diffrent, but the GS spirit stays the same! :thumb

Lol...you haven't seen me yet.....I'm like a kid who's dad's just taken his stabilisers off for the first time  :D

Bugger !

I hadn't realised that Wednesday was also my Son's birthday .

What a bad father I am

Wifey has told me I can go riding any time at the weekend.

Anyone fancy a ride on Sunday ?

Can anyone recommend somewhere close to Eynsford where I can get a set of knobblies (preferably fitted) for the DT ?

Tempted to come along as well. Ideally I would bring the littl'n but as I'm in the city on Wednesday the logistics don't work too well.

Might turn up on the ADV though......
