Anyone know the approximate weight of the 12gs with fuel and oil?, the reason for asking is that i want to get a motorcycle lift to allow easier tinkering/cleaning.

I've read it's 225kg with fuel. There has been an issue with motorcycle lifts and boxer engines. The engine isn't "long" enough for the lift, so you have to fabricate some sort of cradle for it. On the 12GS you should remove the engine protector at the bottom of the engine, as it won't support the weight of the bike directly on it.

Unladen weight , ready for road 85 % load of fuel, without optional extras 225 kg

I've tested. It did not support the weight of the bike. Best advice it to take it away entirely so you dond risk damaging the protector if the bike hits the ground.

I'ts just a design thing to make the bike look mucho macho! Real protectors are available from Touratech and others.
